Sports Illustrated has some good news and some bad news for Canadian hockey fans. On the positive side, the American sports magazines says that Canada's women's hockey team will be coming home with gold medals. As the ladies rule the ice at Turin.
However, the mens team according to SI is going to come up a little short in their expedition to Italy, the weekly magazine suggests that Team Canada will only be a silver medalist this year, coming in second to the Czech Republic. Somebody call Wayne Gretzky and tell him to cancel his subscription!
As for the rest of Canada's Olympic effort, SI sees Canada taking home 20 medals in total, 4 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze. Canadian Olympic officials are a little more positive, they are hoping for 25 medals in total which would give Canada a third place finish in the competition.
One assumes that the COC and Hockey Canada are counting gold in both women's and men's hockey!
