It may be a little bit premature, but the growing consensus seems to be that the Coyotes remarkable run of success in the 2012 playoffs may finally have met its match.
Phoenix which has been rather below the radar for hockey fans for most of their existence (except for those studious ones who follow the financial pages) jumped onto our TV screens this spring with two impressive rounds of success, taking them all the way to the Western Final, a destination that few probably suspected was theirs.
And while much of the same could be said for the Kings (sans the financial travails) the impressions from Game One seem to be that the Kings, who handily dispatched St. Louis and Vancouver in rounds one and two are still on a roll.
LA dominated all facets of Game One on Sunday, a convincing victory swaying both the dedicated and casual fan to their side it seems. The prognostication from many being that the Kings will make quick work of Phoenix as they did St. Louis and Vancouver.
Time will of course tell if that's the case, but another convincing win tonight in Phoenix will certainly put the Kings in the drivers seat heading back home to LA.
