NHL's Rookie of the Month October

For Chicago Black Hawk fans it has been a long time since they've had the chance to cheer about success on the ice in the Windy City.

But, in the first month of the season, ChiHawk fans have been watching a young fellow named Patrick Kane begin to show why the Hawks coveted him on draft day.

The Black Hawk right winger was named by the NHL as the first Rookie of the Month of the 2007-08 season, based on the strength of his 16 points in the fist month of play, his fast start is the most impressive burst of scoring by a rookie in the first month of play since the 1992-93 season. Back in that year, both Teemu Selanne and Joe Juneau were turning heads with their exploits.

Kane rose to the top of a five person list in competition for the honours.
