The rats won't be available for purchase at the arena, but the Panthers are no doubt hoping that the Devils are ducking flying rodents all night long as Florida makes its return to the playoffs a rather dramatic affair, with a game seven showdown with the New Jersey Devils.
To arrange for the flying rodent parade, the Panthers will have to do something that opposing teams have struggled with for many years, put pucks behind one of the NHL's legendary goaltenders, Martin Brodeur, a goaltender who thrives for moments such as this, where everything is on the line in a one game showdown.
The Devils battled back to regain their momentum in this playoff round, taking away a close out opportunity from the Panthers on Tuesday with an OT victory to force the showdown tonight.
Allowing the Devils off the hook may come back to haunt the Panthers, who at times have had this series in hand, only to crack open the door which the Devils more than gladly barged through.
The hockey at times hasn't been pretty, offensive prowess at times something alien to both squads, still, in a series which probably hasn't received as much attention as some of the other more high profile series, both teams are making for the kind of drama the NHL thrives on, the game seven finale.
A cautionary note for the Devils, disregard the local papers (and hide them from the Panthers) which are looking ahead to Round two, even before Round one is complete, offering up the tantalizing prospect of second round with the Flyers or Capitals, such is the kind of thing that finds it's way onto an opposing teams bulletin board.
In the end, a Game Seven showdown boils down to one theme.
One team wins, one team loses, one advances, the other will contemplate its plans for the next year, all that remains is to drop the puck and find out which team is which by the end of the night.
Game Seven -- New Jersey 3 at Florida 2 (2 OT)
