Game Seven-- Ottawa at New York -- April 26, 2012

Game seven, closing time for either the Ottawa Senators or the New York Rangers and depending on which side of that divide you're on, it could be the night where one team sheds a game seven curse or the other once again finds success in a rink city that is used to them from time to time.

Much has been made of the troubles the Senators have with game seven's, something that Captain Daniel Alfredssson addressed on Wednesday, suggesting that there is no time like the present to finally put that particular issue to rest for good.

Spoken like a true Captain, the Sens leader seems to be back to a more level headed approach to the game, that on the heels of his frustrations on the Ottawa bench on Monday night, a moment very un-Alfie like and one that the captain apparently discussed at length with his coach.

The Rangers meanwhile, are back in their more familiar surroundings, where the boisterous nature of the home side's fan base can sometimes be the difference between victory and loss, especially once the Blue shirts jump out to a lead.

The Sens will want to keep the crowd subdued and the Rangers off the scoreboard should they wish to find success in this first round, the omens are good for them from elsewhere, more than a few of the underdogs have risen to the challenge in this first round, Thursday will deliver us the news on whether the Sens too will join the upset express currently roaring through the NHL's first round.
