Game Five-- Red Wings and Predators -- April 20, 2012

Music City may be the place to be on Friday night, the hometown Predators have the opportunity to send the Detroit Red Wings off into their vacation plans, such is the possible result from the Preds strong play thus far in the first round.

With spectacular goal tending from Pekka Rinne, the Preds have left the Red Wings frustrated on the ice and clearly have found their way into the heads of the Wings off of it.  The series which has been framed by Shea Weber's post first game smack around of Henrik Zetterberg, has provided some stellar hockey as well, sometimes lost in the haze of all the extra curricular activity of this early playoff season.

Still, for all the silliness that has surrounded the playoffs, the Red Wings and Predators have put on quite a show for fans of the game, Rinne for the most part the key difference between the teams.

His exploits have almost gained as much media attention in Detroit as have the struggles of the home team, such is the nature of his play which has made  Rinne the key anchor to the Predators hopes for a lengthy Stanley Cup run.

Nashville can take that first step to go deep into the playoffs with a victory on home ice on Friday, there's a very good chance that the hurting' songs will be playing for the Red Wings by the time Friday turns to Saturday, the Preds have been that good and the Red Wings haven't been able to provide the answers.

As Toby Keith might put it, Nashville grab a red solo cup, prepare to party!

Game Five-- Detroit 1 at Nashville 2

Nashville wins the series 4 games to 1
